Location: There are several Locations in the Austin Area I frequent The North Lamar Location (There is a Dallas Location)

4200 N LAMAR BLVD STE 120 AUSTIN, TX 78756

The Coffee: This is a Multi-roaster shop, not only the owners Roasting Company Tweed (Based in Dallas) supplies the shop, but also other coffee roasts from roasters around the US. Houndstooth is a household name in the Austin coffee market, and it’s no surprise. Their coffee selections are decent for a company that has expanded beyond the size of a small local roaster. You can get yourself a very good pour over with usually a selection of 4 roast profiles to choose from. The downside is they are no longer and no matter what you say even though the coffee is roasted in nearby Dallas it will not have that roasted yesterday taste or freshness.

The Atmosphere: There are several locations, but almost every shop is decorated with a fresh modern flair. I love the Texas style swag with a modern twist you can purchase.

About the Shop: Sean Henry is the founder and runs both Houndstooth and Tweed as separate businesses. The shop now has a location in Austin, Dallas, and Los Angeles. Though the owners play up its Austin roots, it is no longer a small Austin shop, and it is no wonder since the coffee is well above the quality of Starbucks or any large corporate chain.
